Camping

Go camping, put up a tent and make suggestions.

Grammar

Zullen we…? and Laten we…

  • Zullen we + infinitive? = Shall we…? A friendly suggestion as a question: Zullen we de tent hier opzetten?
  • Laten we + infinitive = Let's…: Laten we een kampvuur maken! It's a statement, not a question.
  • Zal ik + infinitive? = Shall I…? (an offer): Zal ik de zaklamp pakken?
  • In all three, the infinitive goes to the end, and separable verbs stay in one piece: opzetten, afbreken. Typical answers: Goed idee! Ja, leuk! Nee, liever niet.
