Urgent commands and er is … gebeurd
- In an emergency, keep it short: verb stem first. Bel 112! Kom snel! Help! Pas op!
- Er is introduces something new: Er is brand! Er is een ongeluk. Is er iemand gewond?
- gebeuren (to happen) takes zijn in the perfect: Er is een ongeluk gebeurd. Wat is er gebeurd?
- For things that were stolen, use is / zijn gestolen: Mijn fiets is gestolen. Then you report it to the police: aangifte doen bij de politie.
