Staying safe online
Recognise scams and give clear warnings about links, codes and fake messages.
Grammar
Warnings: imperative + nooit / niet, and als
- A warning is often an imperative (the verb stem first) with nooit or niet: Klik nooit op een verdachte link. Geef je code nooit aan iemand anders.
- Nooit and niet come after the verb, and also after a pronoun or a definite object: Open die mail niet. Deel je gegevens niet.
- Als + present tense = “if / when”. The verb goes to the end of the als-part: Als je een vreemde mail krijgt, …
- When the als-part comes first, the next part starts with the verb (often with dan): Als je twijfelt, bel dan je bank. Als iets te mooi lijkt, is het vaak nep.
