Perfect tense: be-, ver- and separable verbs

• Verbs that start with an unstressed be-, ge-, her-, ont-, ver- get no ge- in the past participle: bestellen → besteld, betalen → betaald, bevestigen → bevestigd, ontvangen → ontvangen.
• The ending is -t after a stem ending in t, k, f, s, ch, p ('t kofschip), otherwise -d: ik bestel → besteld, ik betaal → betaald.
• Separable verbs put ge- between the prefix and the verb: terugsturen → teruggestuurd, inloggen → ingelogd, afrekenen → afgerekend.
• The participle goes to the end: Ik heb gisteren een jas besteld. Heb je de schoenen al teruggestuurd?
