Food
Everyday food and plurals.
Grammar
Making plurals
- Most nouns add -en: boek → boeken.
- Nouns ending in -el, -er, -en, -je and many loanwords add -s: appel → appels, tafel → tafels.
- Watch the spelling: a long vowel in an open syllable is written once: boot → boten; a short vowel doubles the consonant: kat → katten.
- Some are irregular: kind → kinderen, ei → eieren.
